Hollow head
Tears shed
Raging fires
In the flower bed.
Heartless wrath
Blood bath
Dead child
Epitaph.

Winter Heat, Summer Sleet
It's the middle of winter
And January's burning through,
Blurring into
February skies churning, becoming the color in my eyes
March is coming fast
And I know that its harsh winds cannot last
Yet I wonder if I'll still sing
When all becomes still at the end of spring
And heat sets in
Then will I long for this winter wind
To return to the land once again?

Winter
Winter
All is quiet, not a single sound.
The world is pure, crystalline and resting. God's creatures sleep in the dead silence.
It is a time of death, a time of goodbyes, a time of moving on.
But it is also a time of cheer; people gather, laughing, giving.
Celebrating Jesus Christ; remembering Israelites.
The world is renewing, readying itself for a new year.

Stormy Memories
I like the strong winter winds
they’re like the waves
that weekend at the beach
crashing
crashing upon my heart
you came out of nowhere
and you fell in
and the pitter patter of the rain
outside my window
is like the storms in your bed
under your sheets
outside your window
and crashed onto the floor
and you left me there
for eternity
and came back with ginger ale
and water
You were the strong winter winds
[But I left you for an even longer dreary spring]

I love the short lines, they make it sound like an incantation! Beautiful poem!
